YMCA to offer free membership to teens and young adults of the Twin Cities
From June 21 to September 30, teens can access a free membership at 21 YMCA locations in the Twin Cities.
âThe YMCA’s Get Summer program is making a real difference in our community by providing a safe space for young people to connect and have fun while learning important lifelong skills,â said Mark Dienhart, President and Chief of the management of the Schulze Family Foundation.
âWe believe that supporting this program provides a truly unique opportunity to engage the youth in their neighborhood with educational and rewarding experiences with caring mentors and role models. ”
This year, the YMCA will offer teens in grades 9-12 the opportunity to participate in fitness and wellness programs at the Y. They will also have the opportunity to participate in teen-specific in-person and virtual programs. , notably :
- Health and wellness courses
- Leadership and character development programs
- Access to gymnasium, fitness room and aquatic areas
