Sutton and Kirkby Recreation Centers Launch Free Membership for Children in Care and Experienced Youth in Care
Everyone Active, which runs all the leisure centers in the area, including Festival Hall in Kirkby, in partnership with Ashfield Council, is taking part in the new initiative to reduce barriers between children and young people taking part in sports and physical.
Free membership will give access to a range of facilities depending on age, including gym, swimming, soft play and group exercise.
According to the latest figures from the Department of Education for children in care in England, the number of children in care is at an all time high, at more than 80,000, or 67 out of 10,000.

This year, Everyone’s Active launched its National Community Health and Wellness Strategy, with the goal of meeting the needs of individual communities through programs that help people be physically active and feel happy and healthy. in good health.
As part of the strategy, this membership will support children in care or experienced young children with free access to recreational facilities that can help improve their physical health and mental well-being.
Free membership for children in care and young people experienced in care can be viewed and set up through a referral system from the local council’s Family Support Teams.
