Pasadena YMCA offers free membership to vaccinated teens
PASADENA, CA – Teens who have been vaccinated can now receive another bonus besides protection against the coronavirus: a free membership to the local YMCA.
The YMCA of Metro Los Angeles has announced that it will offer a two-month gym membership to people aged 12 to 18 who have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine. The incentive was offered through a $ 200,000 grant from Kaiser Permanente designed to boost the Y’s efforts, education and awareness of the coronavirus vaccine.
The program will be available to new members only until capacity is reached. The YMCA of South Pasadena San Marino is located at 1605 Garfield Ave.
Pre-teens and teens who have been vaccinated can present their vaccination cards at any of the 21 open Los Angeles-YMCA locations in the Los Angeles area to receive the free two-month memberships.
âWe thank Kaiser Permanente for partnering with us to encourage young people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to help their communities move towards recovery from a pandemic,â said Victor Dominquez, Executive Vice President / YMCA-LA Mission Advancement Leader.
This donation strengthens our outreach to educate high-risk communities about the benefits of getting vaccinated. The incentive for a free membership to Gym Y provides an inclusive opportunity for young people who may not have had access or have them. funds to join a gym and exposes them to the importance of regular physical activity in building a healthy lifestyle in general, âhe added.
