Local YMCA Launches Wellness Challenge Including Free Membership
WEST CHESTER – As the weather gets colder and we grapple with the physical and mental challenges of the pandemic, the YMCA of Greater Brandywine invites community members to focus on their health through a wellness challenge free to launch on October 18. The challenge encourages participants to commit to 150 minutes per week of movement for 30 days.
Throughout the four-week challenge, the YMCA will provide a wide variety of resources to help people of all abilities develop healthier habits or find new ways to challenge themselves. Resources include weekly workout routines, recipes, nutritional tips, workout playlists, virtual classes, meditation series and more! Most importantly, it helps connect the residents of our area in a united effort to achieve their goals.
âThis challenge offers our community the opportunity to re-commit to its wellness goals. We encourage families, friends and neighbors to join the challenge together and leverage the YMCA’s resources to help them achieve their fitness goals, âsaid Brian Kish, Director of the Fitness Association. healthy lives.
You don’t need to be a YMCA member to participate in the challenge or use the many resources available through the challenge. A free trial membership is also available for community members who wish to explore their local YMCA and its offerings.
âWe know the pandemic has challenged us all in so many ways. It is extremely important that we find ways to support our overall health. This challenge is a great opportunity to start a new routine as we all work towards living healthier lives, âsaid Heather Bloodworth, Vice President of Membership and Wellness. âWe continue to explore new ways to support our community through virtual offerings, personal and small group training, outdoor classes and more.â
